Life is brief, But my God Thursday afternoon seems incredibly long!

Im lucky enough to live very close to TarraWarra Museum of Modern Art, its a beautiful gallery and they are lucky enough to have Brett Whiteley filling the walls over the summer. I took the day off work today and went and had a visit, I returned home and took my turn at a Whiteley..cough cough not quite brilliant! but i heard this most fantastic quote in his documentry about how you should start to paint "the subject matter is not important, try and cheat and deceive and lie and exaggerate and most particularly distort as absolutely extremely as you can and after some six months or a year or usually in a state of intense frustration you will see something you truly have never seen before and that is the beginning of yourself and that heralds the beginning of difficult pleasure"
